Intro to Kiteboarding Clinics - Sun Sept 24

Tired of not being able to surf on blown-out days? Join the Zuna Surf crew for intro kiteboarding clinics led by kiteboarder extraordinaire and Maverick's surfer Jeff Kafka and his Wind Over Water instructors.

Intro Sessions (Level I - Kite Control):

Suggestion: Take the 12pm land clinic + a 3pm water clinic together! (12pm-6pm)

$100 pp Land Clinic Only (normally $150 - Level I class)

$155 pp Body Dragging Clinic (normally $175 - Level II) - wetsuit advised.

HIGHLIGHTS:

In this 2 hour+, land-based session, students new to kiteboarding will learn basic kite control in level 1. By the end of the lesson, students will understand and demonstrate the proper way to handle & fly a kite and be ready for subsequent water courses (which are jetski / PWC-assisted). Want more? Utilizing 2-meter trainer kites and 4-meter kites on the beach, students will learn:

o Equipment Setup

o Safety Systems

o Kite Control, Wind Theory and Kite Mechanics

o Power Zones

o Launching/Landing

o Key terms used

REQUIREMENTS:

No prior boardsports or kite flying experience are required for this intro land-only lesson. Please bring running shoes, sun protection (hat, shades, sunscreen), and warm layers.

If you enjoyed the intro clinic, learn more! By taking your first kiteboard clinic via Zuna, you'll save $20 off the normal $450, 6-hour intensive Get Hooked! program (which covers Levels I-III and can be taken over 2-3 days). You'll be kiteboarding properly in the water for $430 via Zuna versus $450 (for the full upfront Get Hooked! commitment) or $500 if taken separately. more►

ABOUT WIND OVER WATER KITEBOARDING

Wind Over Water Kiteboarding School is founded by Pacifica's Jeff Kafka, a local standout surfer who is also known for charging Maverick's and big wave tow-in surfing.

Jeff has been kiteboarding for 6-7 years and has made 3 attempts to kiteboard to the Farallon Islands and back.
Jeff and his WOW kiteboarding staff also assist with PWC water patrol at the big wave break, Maverick's, and are fully certified by American Red Cross, Shawn Alladio's K-38 Open Water Rescue & Safety, and WOW kiteboard instruction training. Zuna Surf highly recommends Jeff Kafka and his crew.
