OCEAN BEACH CLEANUP &
STATUS - TUES 11/13
DO NOT GO OUT & SURF UNTIL WATER IS TESTED.
Large swell is in the water as well.
Kathleen Egan (Kill the Spill) just walked down to
the beach and reports that the oil is way
down. The tide is coming up so it could get worse
later but right now, at Noriega, the oil spots are
sporadic. Others said that Taraval and Sloat is down
too -- much of the oil is very thin.
She also worked with City folks who picked up about
50 hair mats to take them down to the water
treatment plant for today's volunteer efforts. They
said that they had a great showing yesterday and did
a lot of clean up.
Zuna Surf would like to see
folks posting regular reports for your block of
Ocean Beach or other popular beaches if attention is
needed. The official agencies have
helicopters.
o Stay tuned for a new technique from
Matter of Trust
to get thin oil collected, plus Myco-Remediation --
a green way to turn all the the oil residue into
natural compost.
OCEAN
